OWL PUNCH

MONDAY AUGUST 30TH.

Went to a class tonight (thank you Janice) and made these cards with the new Stampin Up "owl punch"

Very cute cards, but very labor intense. For the small parts on the owl, I would suggest using a "XYRON". It worked alot better for me with the smaller pieces.
I SHOULD HAVE MENTIONED THE BACKGROUNDS WERE DONE WITH THE STAMPIN UP EMBOSSING FOLDERS

COPIC MARKERS

Last night, THUR AUG 26TH, I took my first COPIC class. Thank you to KATHY "Creative Pals, Brookfield WI for your help.

I learned alot and I am going to start practicing today. It is a very expensive hobby though. I will keep you posted as to my progress.

I love the "magnolia" stamps so I needed to get a handle on shading. I did shading with markers , pencils & crayons, but wanted to know what the copic markers was really all about.

Will post some samples soon.

I spent the weekend now, working with the markers. This is what I realized and its alittle to late.
I bought 5 markers, one red, green, flesh, orange, and light gray. My thought was, for christmas cards & halloween. How very stupid I was. I needed 2 red, 2 orange, 2 green in different shades to do the shading. One light and one darker. At $6.50 a piece, that's $13.00 just to shade one color. Also, the blender pen for Copic does not blend like for other markers. It makes the colors like a watercolor effect. So, that really wasn't working for me.

Next, you have to have special paper, and the only place in Milwaukee that sells the paper is 25 miles from my house. I did buy 10 sheets when I took the class, so that should hold me.

Unless you plan on doing alot of coloring, I think your regular markers are just fine. The only thing with the Copic type paper, it does not "pill" when you go over a color. So, if you are just using a regular marker, just don't go over, and over the paper and you will be fine.

I will continue to practice once I get the other darker shading colors I need, but for now, its back to regular markers for me. I just can't afford to keep buying Copic at $6.50 each.

FUN LITTLE GIFTS

Today I decided to make some cute quick gifts. I sell alot of these at my craft fairs. My field is really floral, but sometimes I take my cards and small gifts to sell. Again, I sell very cheap, so I have to do fast cards and gifts.

These are 2 of my little gift things. One is a small notebook and the other is post-it notes. You can tell I really like bright colors. For the post-it notes I used Velcro for the closure. Some people use magnets. I like the Velcro better because it is light weight.

Apron Card

This I made for a bridal shower card. My gift was kitchen items, so I thought this would match my theme perfectly.
I cut my card so it opened up instead of putting the saying in the pocket on the front of the card.

Close To My Heart Card Ideas

T0day I decided to add 2 cards that were using the "stamp of the month" from CTMH. This was the stamp set from July.
I stamped the image and just cut a circle around him. When I taped him down I added some ink lines for his fur. That way I could use a different patterned paper. Easy, easy, easy.
All the paper, ink and stamps were from CTMH.

I do my cards in 15 minutes or less. Not much ever involved.
I sell my cards and need to do things that go fast. If you would like quick and cute ideas, this is the place.

Paper quilting

This card was really easy. Email me if you would like the dimensions.

Magnolia stamp

I just love working with Magnolia stamps. This was my first try at shading and I can only hope that I will get better someday. I did take painting lessons for 3 years, but it is not helping me in stamping. I just can't get it right.

Stampin up-"LITTLE BOYS" set

This card is using an older set from "Stampin Up"

Fun Cards

In this card I used all Stampin Up products.
You can't tell from the picture but, I versa- marked the clubs, spades and dimonds on the yellow part of the card.
The dice I just cut from a stamped image and used a pop dot. I love those things!
